The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Ekiti State has arrested a suspect for trafficking eight children for child labour.

The NIS Comptroller in the state, Mr Alphonsus Achilonu, stated this in Ado Ekiti at a week-long customer service ceremony with members of the public to check corruption and for improved service delivery.

Mr Achilonu said, “Our anti-human trafficking team was on patrol, and based on intelligence, arrested one man while he was trafficking eight children who are majorly minors to their end users. He confessed that he brought the children from Benue State. The eight victims have been reunited with their families.”
