There has been a train derailed during Wednesday’s morning rush hour in Brooklyn’s Atlantic Terminal, New York police have said.

Reports say up to 37 people sustained injuries but majority with minor injuries.

New York Police Fire Department however said no one has any life threatening injuries.

Passengers on social media described the train cars as striking the platform in the station.

New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority said Brooklyn Atlantic Terminal would experience delays due to the derailment,’’ (dpa/NAN)
