Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Adeniyi Oyebade has said the training and counselling of youth by the Kaduna state chapter Hisbah Sub-Committee will go a long way in tackling insecurity especially linked to youth restiveness.
Speaking at the annual Hisbah state training in Kaduna over the weekend, the commandant who was represented by the Chief Imam, NDA, Major Abdulwahab Muhammad Jafar appreciated the effort of the Kaduna state Hisbah which he said is a way of assisting the government of the day.
He said, “If we look at the situation today, because so many things are happening and without people that are counselling the youth and assisting the authority we cannot achieve anything in life most especially lord almighty says ‘Oh you who believe, we have created you from a single male and female, made you into nations and tribes in order to understand one another, not to cheat or to kill one another’, if we understand the message of this verse definitely, we will live in peace and happiness.
He noted that Hisbah is aimed at counselling people not taking the laws into their hands by assisting the government to discharge its task.
However, Secretary of Hisbah, Kaduna state, Muhammad Awwal Suleiman said participants for the training are drawn from all 23 local government areas of the state.
He said about 1, 800 participants will be taken through a two-day intensive refresher course on leadership with a view to ensuring that they are aware of the guiding principles surrounding their association.
