The governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Gombe, the Gombe State capital on Wednesday affirmed the 11th April, 2015 election of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In his ruling, the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Mohammed Surajo which lasted for four and half hours dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressive Congress Candidate (APC) candidate in the election, Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, for what he called lack of credible evidence to prove his petition.
The chairman said the petitioner failed to prove his case that the election that produced Dankwambo was characterised by electoral malpractices that could warrant the dismissal of the election.
