It’s been such an emotional week for Paul Walker‘s family members and friends. After learning that his December 4 autopsy report revealed that he died from traumatic and thermal injuries after his horrific November 30 car crash, the touching video is a wonderful tribute to his memory that shows his most powerful moments in the ‘Fast & Furious’ films.
In the video, a montage of Paul’s most poignant moments in the film’s franchise flash onscreen, including him smiling and laughing with his beloved co-stars, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Vin Diesel.
A clip of Vin in one of the films also appears, showing that the cast was truly a family, on and off-screen. He gives a toast and says, “The most important thing in life will always be the people in this room, right here, right now. ‘Salut, mi familia’.”
Walker a passenger in a red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend Rodas when it crashed last Saturday in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles.
According to coroners, feeding speculation he survived the initial impact of the car crash in which he eventually died.
The initial autopsy results came as the makers of the blockbuster film franchise announced they were stopping production for now, as they discuss how to proceed with the seventh installment, due for next year.
According to the autopsy Walker’s cause of death was listed as the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries, while his friend Rodas died of multiple traumatic injuries.
Media gathered that many people ran from a nearby charity event which they attended, but arrived too late to do anything for them as the blaze engulfed the car.
The star’s death stunned fans of the high-octane series who have flocked to the spot where he died, contributing to a growing makeshift shrine where co-stars, including Vin Diesel, who came to pay respect.
It was a major blow to studio giant Universal Pictures, for whom the franchise is a huge money maker in the industry increasingly dependent on lucrative blockbuster sequels.
“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended ‘Fast & Furious’ family of cast, crew and filmmakers,” a statement said. “At this time, we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on ‘Fast & Furious 7’ for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.
Shortly before the crash, Walker had been at an event to raise money for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines to reach out Worldwide, a non-profit disaster relief that he founded.
The actor was taking a Thanksgiving break from filming the ‘Fast and Furious’ sequel, which had been scheduled for release in July.
In a departure from his action movie roles, Walker was supposed to appear in ‘Hours’, an independent movie set for mid-December release about a father who struggles to keep his ailing infant daughter alive after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005 but death took him away.
