Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), a security task force maintaining peace in Plateau State, have arrested three suspected armed robbers in Katnan-Buratali community of Wase Local Government Area of the state.

The operatives said the arrested suspects were among those terrorising the community.

Disclosing the development in Jos, the spokesperson for the operation, Major Samson Zhakom, said the suspects were caught with firearms.

He said, “On April 22, 2025, troops of Sector 2 OPSH conducted a stop and search operation along Katnan- Buratali Road, Kadarko District in Wase LGA of Plateau State. During the operation, troops arrested three suspected armed robbers.

“The suspects were arrested in possession of one fabricated pistol, and were brought to the custody for interrogation. During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to be operating with other gang members. Following the interrogation, the suspects volunteered to lead troops to their hideout to recover more weapons and arrest other gang members.’’

According to Major Zhakom, the suspects, while leading the troops to their hideouts, attempted to disarm the troops to escape but were immediately neutralised.

The spokesperson said OPSH would continue to deploy every legitimate means to protect law-abiding residents within the Joint Operations Area from criminal attacks and wanton destruction of their property.
