Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have repelled an attempted attack on Teegbe village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
This comes amid rising tensions following an earlier ambush in the community where two farmers were killed and another injured.
According to OPSH spokesperson, Major Samson Zhakom, the attack, which occurred on April 23, 2025, was thwarted after troops responded swiftly to a distress call.
“Our troops engaged the attackers, forcing them to retreat to higher ground. One assailant was neutralised during the exchange of fire, and two others were arrested and are currently under interrogation,” Zhakom said.
