Troops nab 3 bandits’ informants over Kagarko abduction

Soldiers have arrested three suspected bandits’ informants, including their leader, identified as Malam Goma, in connection with the recent abduction of the daughters and grandchildren of the Emir of Kagarko, Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad.

City & Crime had reported that one of the abducted grandchildren of the emir, Yusuf Sa’ad, escaped from his abductors when they attempted to execute him after he identified some of them in their den.

A palace source, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter through telephone on Thursday that the troops arrested the suspects during a raid on Tuesday.

He said the troops, who were in three Hilux vans, drove to the emir’s palace before proceeding to raid some places where they arrested the suspects.

He said, “So far, three suspects were arrested, including their leader, Malam Goma, on Tuesday afternoon when troops came to Kagarko. They have been taken to Kaduna, even as the family of the victims said they had no money to pay ransom.”

The palace Secretary, Yahaya Ibrahim, could not be reached for comment as his phone was switched off as at the time of filing this report.

Recall that troops last month also raided Janjala community in Kagarko Chiefdom and arrested 11 suspected bandits’ informants, including the Madaki of Janjala, Aliyu Ibrahim.
