The troops of Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) have continued to dismantle terrorist strongholds, executing a series of coordinated clearance operations targeting identified terrorist enclaves.
A statement by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, said the operations, launched in the early hours of 4 May 2026, covered critical locations, including Maikwanuga village in Talata Mafara LGA and Aljumma, Gidan Dawa, Magami Didi and Tungar Magaji villages all in Maradun LGA.
Lt. Col. Danja also said, during the advance, troops engaged terrorists in Tungar Magaji with overwhelming firepower, neutralising two terrorists and forcing others to flee in disarray.
“Following the engagement, troops conducted a thorough search of the area, recovering one AK-47 rifle with 30 rounds loaded magazine and one motorcycle,” Danja said.
He also said the operations are part of a sustained campaign to dismantle terrorist hideouts within the Bagega–Sunke forest corridor and ensure lasting security for affected communities.
