Troops of Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP) have neutralized five bandits in the Dantarau area of Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State.
Samuel Aruwan, the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday following operational feedback from the troops to the state government.
He said the troops engaged the bandits in the Dantarau community, resulting in the elimination of five criminals.
According to him, two AK-47 rifles, a locally fabricated sub-machine gun, AK-47 magazines, motorcycles and handheld radio sets were recovered from the criminals. He also said the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch targeted bandit camps in Sabon Birnin Daji general area of Igabi LGA, successfully hitting them. Aruwan further said credible intelligence sources confirmed the operation’s success, with several bandits eliminated and some sustaining injuries, seeking medical support in the area.

The governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressed satisfaction at this achievement and commended the troops, led by Major General MLD Saraso, for their dedicated efforts.
Governor Sani encouraged the military to maintain the momentum of operations in combating banditry in the state.
