Troops rescue Kidnap victims in Edo

He said that on March 27, the troops received a distress call that two females had been kidnapped by gunmen and immediately mobilised for a bush-combing operation alongside local vigilantes to rescue the victims and apprehend the suspects.
According to him, the suspects, on noticing they were being encircled, abandoned the victims and fled. The victims were thereafter rescued and reunited with their families.

He explained that the victims were rescued at about 8:30 pm on March 28 after their abductors abandoned them due to sustained pressure from the operation.
He added that rescue efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle their criminal network in the area.
