A truck crushed to death a-yet-to-be identified woman along Housing Road in Ado Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State, yesterday.
The accident, it was gathered, occurred around 7am when the deceased had just climbed a commercial motorcycle.
The rider of the motorbike sustained serious injury and had been rushed to the hospital while the corpse of the woman had been kept in the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
A representative of the FRSC and Public Enlightenment Officer of the commission in the state command, Mohammed Olowo attributed the incident involving the lorry marked ADK 13 XA with the inscription of the Ekiti State Tipper Permit details, 2016 EK, /ADK 008, to break failure.
He said, “We don’t know the whereabouts of the driver now but the association of tipper drivers in the state have come in. The truck would be impounded.”
