TUC president Comrade Bala Kaigama made the call weekend in Lagos at the 2015 International Women’s Day celebration, with theme “Equality for Women, Make it Happen,” saying creative ideas, zest and force are required on the part of women to make gender balance a reality.
Speaking, chairperson TUC Women’s Commission, Comrade Oyinkan Olasanoye charged women  to  develop themselves and seek additional training and knowledge in order to cope in the nation’s economic environment.
Olasanoye said women must also develop and nurture the talents and skills they are passionate about and excel in same in order to prepare them for the tasks ahead.
“This is important because many women have faced challenges following a divorce or the death of spouse. Most often they (women) have no idea where the family funds have been invested. They sometimes face significant debt with the potential loss of the family home,” she said.
