The Kaduna State Chapter of Trade Union Congress (TUC) has called on the state government to pay the entitlements of all the retirees as well as staff recently affected by its retrenchment exercise.
The union said that the payment would cushion their economic hardship and reduce the pains of jobs loss.
The state chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Danfulani, who disclosed this at a news briefing to mark the Workers’ Day celebration, said it was worrisome for someone to be relieved of his appointment or retired from service without being paid his entitlements.
Danfulani, however, debunked the ongoing social media speculations that the state government was planning to retrench staff of 50 years and above from the Civil Service.
