The President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama has advised members of the newly registered Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) to ensure high professional practice in their daily operations.
Bobboi gave this advice in Abuja during the inaugural national meeting of the association.
He  tasked members of the association to always embrace dialogue in the promotion of the welfare and effective operations of members, expressing  confidence in the ability of the Augustine Apeh-led executive to ensure that  members  operate within the ambit of the law.
“The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria which you are affiliated to is a very responsible and respected association, we are respected because we know that the era of table banging is over, you now have to use your brain to marshal your point and sell the idea of the protection of your workers, my little interaction with your president and other executive has proven to me that we are not wrong to accept you into our fold”.
He added that as the newest affiliate of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria,  TOAN members  will enjoy maximum protection as whatever affects them also affects TUC.
In his address,  National President of TAON Comrade Augustine Apeh commended the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment for finding the association worthy of registration  as a member of  trade union, saying  the association  will work towards   poverty eradication amongst members and Nigerians at large.
