The national president of Trade Union Congress (TUC) Bobboi Kaigama has called on state governments to subsidize state sponsored housing projects to make them affordable to workers.
Kaigama explained that the prices of the houses were too high and workers would not be able to buy them in view of the low purchasing income of workers worsened by the present economic crunch facing all sector of the economy.
He argued that unless government subsidizes these houses, they will only be built without the genuinely intended workers occupying them.
