Both players who spoke to Trustsports yesterday at their Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers camp, said they are in Nigeria to win and confirm their qualification to the senior World Cup final in South Africa next year.
The players, who spoke through an interpreter said they are looking forward to cap their excellent run in the World Cup qualification campaign with a win over their host today.
According to Chawki who plies his trade with Nice Football Club in France it would be a sweet experience for him to appear at the World Cup in South Africa next year after the first outing four years ago in Germany.
“I was at the 2006 World Cup in Germany four years ago and I look forward to appearing again with Tunisia in South Africa. It was a sweet experience and I would like to be there again”, Chawki said.
When asked if Tunisia would be a better representative for Africa at the South Africa 2010 World Cup, Chawki said it depends on the opposition that Tunisia will face at the group stage, but adds that Tunisia will do her best to at the global soccer fiesta.
The player however said he believes Nigeria, Egypt, Cote D’Ivoire and Cameroon are the other countries that could provide quality and strong representation at the South Africa 2010 World Cup.
