Ambassador of Turkey in Nigeria, Mustafa Pulat, made the revelation when he visited Media Trust office in Abuja yesterday.
The ambassador said that the crisis arising from Syria and Iraq, both bordering Turkey in the south, requires the international community to bring heads together to see to an end to the crisis.
He said over 500,000 inhabitants of the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani have fled into southern Turkey to escape advancing Islamic State militants, according to  the U.N. High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
Ambassador Pulat said there is a coherent plan by Turkey to address refugee protection and humanitarian needs while building the resilience of vulnerable people and impacted communities.
The Turkish envoy also said that the degree of normalcy in the southern region of Turkey has to be handled with care hence the need for support and partnership of friendly countries like Nigeria.
He said Turkey has nothing to gain from the crisis which he described as a signal to a deeply rooted problem that may not be addressed very swiftly but may pave way for a vibrant democracy and better future.
