Two siblings abducted at Ayetoro in Yewa North LGA of Ogun State have regained their freedom.

Our correspondent gathered that 20-year-old Esther Kehinde and her brother, David Kehinde,15, were kidnapped at Oremeji Street, Joga area of Ayetoro.

It was further gathered that the victims were washing their school uniforms when the gun-wielding hoodlums stormed the compound and took them away.

The source said barely 12 hours after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family of the victims and demanded N15 million ransom.

Our correspondent gathered that the siblings regained their freedom after the payment of an undisclosed amount to the kidnappers.

A source said the parents sold their home appliances including television set, generator among other valuables to raise the ransom.

The actual amount paid could not be ascertained but the family handed over the ransom to the kidnappers on Friday night and immediately secured the release of their children.

The family source said, “they didn’t want us to know the real amount paid, our family and relations contributed money while, our home appliances were also sold.”

On Sunday, the police said they have arrested the suspected kidnappers who also carried out other abductions in the state.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police said the suspects who were described as serial kidnappers belonged to a gang that was responsible for multiple kidnap cases in the state.
