Two die, four injured in Ogun multiple accident

Two persons yesterday died while four others sustained injuries in a multiple accident in Ogun State.

The accident occurred around Joju area of the Abeokuta – Lagos expressway.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar, confirmed the accident to journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday.

He said the accident involved five vehicles, one tricycle and one motorcycle.

According to him, 11 persons were involved in the accident, adding that “four were injured, two reported dead and five escaped were unhurt”.

He attributed the accident to excessive speed and break failure on the part of one of the trucks with registration number, AAA-552-XY.   

“Those injured were taken to the General Hospital Otta and the two corpses to Ifo General Hospital morgue”, the commander said.

He advised motorists to always check their vehicles  every morning before driving on the road.

Umar commiserated with the families of the crash victims and enjoined them to contact FRSC, Otta for more information about the crash.
