A chief magistrate court in Gombe yesterday ordered two friends to be remanded in prison custody over alleged criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
The police arraigned Walid Muhammad, 22, and Buhari Aminu, 21, all residents of Gombe metropolis before Chief Magistrate Babayo Usamatu, over two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and robbery.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the friends had on August 27, conspired with one Musa Huzaifa and Abubakar Babangaye now at large, armed with cutlasses and knives, where they invaded the house of one Shuaibu at Nasarawo quarters in the metropolis and robbed him of his property worth N35,000 and N30,000 cash.
When asked by the court, the accused persons pleaded guilty to the offences.
However, the police prosecutor, Sergeant Bako Shekari, told the court that investigation is still ongoing and appealed for adjournment to enable police complete the investigation.
Chief Magistrate Usamatu granted the application and adjourned the case to December 5 and ordered the accused persons to be remanded in prison custody.
