The esteemed title of Galadiman Kano is one of profound historical significance, one that demands not only respect but a deep and serious understanding of its weight and role within the emirate. It is, indeed, a position second only to the emir himself, a title not lightly given, nor a position to be reduced to the whims of political expediency.

It is deeply unfortunate to witness the sacred office of Galadima being treated as a mere tool for political advantage and vendetta. The legacy of the late Galadima stands as a towering testament to dedication, wisdom, and unshakable loyalty to the emirate. For decades, he served with an excellence that is now being callously undermined by hasty decisions and superficial considerations.

Appointing a Galadima is not a decision to be made in the heat of political manoeuvring; it demands profound consultation, reflection, and respect for tradition. It requires the selection of a person who embodies nobility of character, a depth of experience in royal institutions, and an intrinsic understanding of the sacred trust placed in the title. Anything less than this is a disservice not only to the emirate but to the generations of leaders who upheld its dignity.

The truth remains immutable: two Galadima can never make one. The late Galadima’s shoes are not easily filled, and certainly not by those seeking short-term political gain. His life was a legacy of service, and until a figure of equal wisdom, nobility, and experience is found, it would be a betrayal of his memory and the very spirit of the emirate to act otherwise.

We must rise above fleeting politics and honour the weight of history. The title of Galadiman Kano is not merely a designation; it is a sacred trust, a burden carried with grace and wisdom by a select few. To diminish it is to diminish ourselves.
