Two students of Greenspring School in Lagos, Emmanuella Ilok and Khalid Seriki have won the year 2021 KPMG secondary school debate.

The duo emerged winners after scaling through intense debate sessions on the topic titled ‘Which is better, onsite or online learning?’

The KPMG debate is an annual secondary school debate organized by KPMG Nigeria where the first prize winners go home with a cash prize of N400,000 and other exciting prizes.

Narrating their experience during the final of the competition, they expressed that even though the debate’s structure was unfamiliar, they emerged victorious due to the exposure their school gave them.

The students were grateful to their English teachers, who helped in developing our debating and public speaking skills.

Commenting on the victory, the principal at GreenSprings School Anthony campus, Mrs. Magdalene Okrikri said she was impressed by the students’ performance at each stage of the competition. 

While she congratulated them for working as a team and performing excellently at each stage of the competition; she commended their strong communication skill, confidence, and their ability to persist all through the debate sessions.
