Tagged “Friends of Nigeria” the awards were presented by the Nigerian Ambassador in Poland, Dr. Samuel Wodi Jimba to Dr. Jan Kulczyk, a Polish businessman and Dr. Anioefic Ntuk, a Nigerian.
In a statement from the Nigeria embassy in Poland yesterday, Ambassador Jimba presented the awards at a reception held at the embassy on Friday as part of activities marking the 53rd Independence anniversary of Nigeria. He stated that the recipients had excelled in promoting bi-lateral relations and Nigeria’s economic growth.
The envoy told guests including Polish and Nigerians in Diaspora that “the increasing attractiveness of Nigeria’s investment climate and the growing confidence in the economy were created by the economic reform agenda being implemented since the return of democracy in 1999. Responding on behalf of the recipients, Dr. Jan Kulczyk who is the CEO of Naconde Energy Ltd said Africa had the potential of being the new pole of global growth especially by harnessing its natural resources, demographic advantages and the liberalisation and deregulation of the economy.
Dr. Kulczyk who had generated employment opportunities to many Nigerians said the key to success in the Nigerian economy would be achieved through the creation of workplaces, investment in local production, inviting local entrepreneurs to partnership based cooperation and respect to local communities and their needs.
Dr. Kulczyk who established Naconde Energy Ltd in 2011 in Nigeria, acquired 40 per cent share holding from Shell Petroleum Oil Mining License (OML) number 42 in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
