A two storey building under construction has caved in on Damaturu Close near the old cemetery in Gwarimpa, Abuja.

A resident said the building carved-in on Monday afternoon but nobody was injured as all the labourers ran out of the building to safety when it began to crumble. 

He said when neighbours heard the noise from the building as it came down, they rushed to the scene to render help, but the labourers at the site said nobody was trapped inside the building.

A representative of the owner of the building, who did not mention his name, said they suspected sabotage as they were having  an issues with the owner of the building, but that they had reported to the appropriate authorities and that they wanted to continue with the building.

However, a resident said they were surprised how the property developer got approval to erect a two storey building in a residential area where there was no single storey building.
