Daily Trust journalist and writer Bamas Victoria and Lagos-based engineer-turned-poet Jide Badmus will read from their works at the Words Rhymes & Rhythm (WRR) 2017 festival.

Badmus will read from his 2017 collection of poems, ‘There is a Storm in My Head’, while Bamas will read her award-winning story ‘The Numbers Girl and the Pale Kid’.

In 2017 Bamas won the ALS Short Story Prize 2017 for her story, ‘The Numbers Girl and the Pale Kid’, from her upcoming debut book, ‘Sand in My Shoes’, a collection of short stories, poetry and anecdotes. 

Badmus’s works have been published in national dailies and his collection of poems, ‘There is a Storm in My Head’ was published in February 2017 by WRR.

This year’s WRR Feast of Words festival, themed ‘Write to Right; Right to Write’, will feature discussions, award presentations, book unveiling, readings, poetry and an African Night of words, musical and drama performances. It will hold today at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan.
