The 6th edition of the Misters of Nigeria pageant delivered another a moment on April 23, 2026, at the MUSON Centre, Lagos, as Kelechi Chiazor Amonu-Jones, representing Imo State, was named Mister Global Nigeria 2026.
Competing as Mr Imo, Kelechi’s journey to the crown reflects a blend of discipline, resilience, and international exposure. Now based in the United States, he serves in the U.S. Army, where he has earned multiple distinctions across fitness, combative training, and marksmanship. His background also includes collegiate athletics and academic achievement, alongside a growing presence as a fitness advocate.
Beyond his credentials, Kelechi’s message is rooted in personal development and purpose. He has consistently emphasized the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and creating opportunities through discipline, values he hopes to pass on to young people both in Nigeria and abroad.
With the national title secured, he now turns his focus to the international stage, where he will represent Nigeria at the Mister Global competition scheduled for October in Thailand.
Nigeria will have a dual presence at the event, as Kelechi is set to compete alongside Aisha Abubakar, the reigning Miss Global Nigeria, who will also represent the country at Miss Global this year.
The Misters of Nigeria competition, held annually, continues to highlight individuals whose stories extend beyond the runway, positioning them as ambassadors of strength, character, and global relevance.
