UBA said in a statement the appointments are designed to consolidate its strategic positioning and fully exploit the emerging opportunities in Africa’s fast growing economies.
The three executives whose appointments have just been sanctioned by the CBN include Apollos Ikpobe as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Obi Ibekwe as an Executive Director.
Ikpobe will be complementing Kennedy Uzoka, another of the Bank’s Deputy Managing Directors, who is in charge of the Group’s Resources and Treasury. He will drive the domestic banking operations of UBA Plc while Ibekwe will drive the bank’s human resources and customer services.
The bank has also announced the appointment of Rasheed Adegoke, as Director Information Technology in charge of Group Information Technology. Adegoke, joins UBA from First Bank of Nigeria, where he was CIO, a role he has held for over 13 years at different institutions in the Nigerian financial services sector.
