UCL final: I’m fit and 100% ready to play against Arsenal – Dembele

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has declared himself fit and ready to face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final at the Puskas Arena on Saturday.

The wing wizard has been an injury worry for PSG after he left the pitch in the first half during the club’s final domestic match of the season against city rivals Paris FC.

The 29-year-old was dealing with a calf complaint and he has recovered in time to continue his UCL form.

The winger led PSG to victory over Bayern Munich in the semi-finals with three goals in two legs, and Dembele told reports he has shaken off the injury and is not only fit but also raring to go against the Gunners.

“I wasn’t scared about missing the final. I had a niggle, so I stopped playing [against Paris FC] so I could be fit for the final.

“I am 100% ready to play and I’m hopeful things will go well tomorrow.”

Dembele was not the only injury worry for PSG in their second UCL final in two years, the club’s dependable fullbacks Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi have also been declared fit.

Hakimi went off injured in the semi-final against Bayern, while Mendes had missed the last three matches.

Both were carrying thigh injuries and have recovered in time to face Mikel Arteta’s side.

PSG can become the most successful French club in Europe with victory, while Arsenal are seeking a maiden UCL title.
