Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has appointed National Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Chidi Ilogebe and a former vice president of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Ogechukwu Nnamene, as Special Assistants on Students and Youth Affairs respectively.

The appointments followed a meeting between the governor and the coalition of youths and students’ leaders in the state, and the need to fill vacancy created as a result of the resignation of a former Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Emeka Asogwa, who is contesting for the Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency seat.

Ugwuanyi, who considered the duo for the appointments after the coalition unanimously nominated them, directed the Secretary to   the State Government (SSG), Dr. G.O.C Ajah, to issue them appointment letters with immediate effect, noting that the decision was in keeping with the vision to accommodate more youths in the affairs of the state.
