The book is a great read about life in Northern Nigeria – about love, animosity, greed, religion, politics and so much more. The stories are described as ‘moving and inspiring short stories,’ with the capacity ‘to leave you gasping for breath with laughter or moved to tears with emotion.’
Ward is a languages lecturer in English and Hausa at a large Languages Institute in London who helped in setting up the Hausa department at the institute and at another Hausa Language Centre in London.
