The Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Akwa Ibom State,‎ appoints a front-line journalist, Mr Manasseh Umoette, as its new  Public Relations Officer (PRO).
The appointment  was contained in a letter signed by the rector of the institution, Prof. Balama Obomanu.
 Umoette, from Uruk Uso in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, had a diploma in international relations and a Bachelor’s degree in communication arts from the University of Uyo. He had a Master’s degree in mass communication from the Benue State University, Makurdi.
He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the immediate past vice chairman of the Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of  Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council. He had worked with many media organisations, including  the Nigerian Newsday Newspapers, Sensor newspaper, and served as the editor of the Gazette newspaper in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
Umoette, an author of two books, wrote several articles and commentaries for newspapers and radio broadcasts.
He  served as head, media and publicity committee, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council, from August 2012 to July 2015.
