Umahi condemns killing of security officer at Enugu/Ebonyi boundary

The Ebonyi State Government has condemned the killing of a soldier at the boundary between Uburu in Ohanzara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Mpu community in Enugu State.

The officer who lost his life was among the soldiers keeping guard at the border between the two states. 

Briefing journalists, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Uchenna Orji, said the condemnation came at the end of the state council meeting.

Orji also said that the council had urged security agencies to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. 

He said the council also noted the renewed hostilities in Abaomege/Isinkwo Ukawu communities over their disputed land and directed stakeholders from the area to work closely with the security agencies to identify those responsible for the renewed attack despite the resolutions made on the disputed land by the state government”, he explained.
