Jonathan said during the official launch of the new driver’s licence and number plates in Abuja that he will explore all means to get the bombers arrested.  “We now have facts on those behind the bombing and I have directed all security agencies to go after them. Those who create problems have no hiding place.”

 

The president then cautioned security agencies not to work independently in the fight against terrorists but collaborate and share information with the public. “Security architecture must have key emphasis on intelligence and citizen’s participation.”

He said the new drivers licence and number plates will enable authorities to have a central database for drivers and vehicles that could be used to trace vehicle owners.

The federal government had directed all security agencies to create a central database for people, following the Independence Day bomb blasts in Abuja in 2010. The president said: “We are in touch with international agencies and organization working against terrorism and we shall work with them.”
