The UN peacekeeping mission in Ivory Coast (Onuci) is set to wrap up in June 2017, after 12 years of operation, according to a withdrawal schedule handed over to Ivorian officials.
The mission was created in 2004 under a UN resolution at a time when Ivory Coast was rocked by a civil war that led a north-south split in the country.
It was extended in the wake of the 2010 deadly post-electoral crisis and had the mission of protecting civilians and supporting disarmament efforts.
