The incessant road accidents caused by reckless driving, and violation of traffic rules within Katsina city metropolis is alarming. It is devastating that the attitude of driving on one-way lanes, beating traffic lights, driving without dysfunctional headlights in the night and over speeding, especially among motorcyclists and tricycle operators, are not only common but acceptable in spite of the calamities they are causing. It is a pity that agencies established by the government to checkmate this reckless attitude, particularly Officials of the Federal Roads Safety Commission, are only interested in arresting private motor vehicle drivers for not wearing seat belts, while ignoring other driving offences.
