The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to empower 1,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state with a total funding of N350 million.
The two agencies organised a series of business and financial management training workshops across Katsina, Dutsinma, and Funtua to enhance participants’ skills in business management and financial literacy.
Dr Sadiq Ibrahim Matazu, the programme coordinator, emphasised the training’s significance, especially for low-income households affected by conflict.
The programme will provide livelihood support to various businesses, with funding structured as follows: 400 nano businesses N100,000 grant each; 300 micro businesses N300,000 grant each; 200 small businesses to access a revolving fund of N600,000; and 100 medium enterprises to receive a revolving fund of N1,000,000.

The initiative focuses on women, youth and people living with disabilities in eight frontline LGAs of Jibia, Safana, Faskari, Batsari, Dan Musa, Dandume, Sabuwa, and Kankara.
Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Ƴar’adua, Commissioner of Women Affairs, urged participants to leverage the training to enhance their businesses and support women entrepreneurs.
Dr Ibrahim Gani, Director of Enterprise at KASEDA, urged participants to apply their new knowledge and skills effectively.
The participants received certificates of attendance and expressed gratitude to both KASEDA and UNDP.
