UNESCO distributes e-books to teachers

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has distributed teaching and learning materials including e-books to students and teachers in the FCT.
The Director, UNESCO Regional Office, Benoit Sossou, represented by Regional Education Specialist, Rokhaya Diawara, said during a training workshop for 100 FCT teachers in Abuja that the materials were distributed to partners under the UNESCO-Always project on ‘empowering of girls and women in literacy and skills development through the use of ICTs.’
She said about 200 laptops were provided to enable teaching and learning in addition to other ICT components such as 100 e-learning teachers guide books, configured e-learning lesson content in basic science and technology, mathematics and English as well as teachers attendance registers.
She said 7,500 2B Exercise books, 7,000 2D Exercise books and students’ registers were also distributed.
