Uniabuja promotes six PhD holders, 83 others

This development followed the positive assessments of the affected persons’ publications by the council.
The council approved the promotions during its 69th regular meeting held in December 9, 10 and 11, 2014, which considered the report of the external assessors and recommendation for other staff promotions.  
The newly promoted Doctors include:  Dr. S.W. Tile promoted to professor of medical sociology; Dr. Halimatu Sadiya Idris, professor of zoology and veterinary parasitology; Dr. S.A.J. Obansa now professor of health economics and Dr Isaac Obasi, promoted to the rank of professor of public policy sector and industrial relations.   
Others are Dr. Ojobo James Agebes, professor of public financial management and planning and Professor Danladi Emmanuel Ndan of the Department of Arts and Social Science Education.
The effective dates of promotions ranged from 2009 to 2011, a statement from the university, signed by the Deputy Registrar (Information), Alhaji Waziri Garba, said.
