As the Bayero University Kano (BUK) prepares to install the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as its fifth Chancellor on Saturday, March 2, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (Uniabuja), Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, has congratulated him, describing the appointment as well-deserved.
Na’Allah, in a press release by the acting Director, Information and University Relations of the university, Dr Habib Yakoob, stated that he was confident that the emir’s appointment by the university was a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities.
He said, “On behalf of the entire University of Abuja community, I wish to congratulate you on your appointment as the fifth Chancellor of Bayero University Kano and your forthcoming investiture on Saturday, 2nd March, 2024.
“This appointment and investiture are, no doubt, a testament to your exceptional leadership qualities, unwavering dedication to education and esteemed contributions to the academic community.”

Na’Allah further said the emir’s distinguished service and commitment to the advancement of knowledge, proven track record of leadership abilities and capabilities “undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping the educational landscape of your immediate community in particular and the nation at large.”
Daily Trust reports that since his installation as the 11th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari served as the Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, and the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, before his recent redeployment to BUK.
