University of Benin Alumni Association (UBAA), has immortalized the former Chief of General Staff, late Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe by renaming a 1000 capacity lecture theatre after him. The lecture hall was named after late Akhigbe during the association’s 15th Biennial General Assembly in Benin.
President of the association, Ifaluyi Isibor said late Admiral Akhigbe contributed immensely towards making the lecture theatre a reality.
He said the donations made by late Akhigbe showed his love for the association and the institution respectively.
The association’s former president, Osa Ikhuero said during the launching of the building, late Akhigbe donated the sum of N5 million and also talked the then Head of State to donate N10 million to the association.
