Kolade emerged winner with a total of 229 votes as against his opponent, Ogaga Akpughe who had 212 votes in the election held recently.
The election, which was monitored by operatives of the security department of the institution, was adjudged as free and fair.
Prior to the election, the debate, organised by the Electoral Committee for the aspirants to present their plans and visions for the association, saw a mammoth crowd of students displaying placards of their support in a carnival-like mood.
Also, Emmanuel Edigberhi, a 300-level student, was elected assistant secretary-general of the association. He got 262 votes to defeat Eseosa Osadiaye of 400-level, who pulled 174 votes.
Other members of the executive were elected unopposed. They are Samson Sapele (Director of Welfare), Anthony Adams (Director of Sports), Amedu Osemudiamen (Secretary General),Natahaniel Asibor (Public Relations Officer), Laye Omagbemi (Director of Socials), Ofovwe Vanessa (Vice President), Kelvin Osayande (Editor in Chief) and Okpako Gabriel (Chairman, Committee on Medical Outreach and Public Health).
Similarly, Eriki Joshua is the new Speaker of UBEMSA. He was elected unopposed at the maiden General Assembly of the Association held last Saturday.
