The National Association of Enugu State Student (NAESS) University of Benin (Uniben) chapter has organized a cultural fiesta in which traditional wrestling contests were held.
President of the association Mathew Aru said the purpose of the event was to showcase African culture.
He said, “The African culture is gradually losing its relevance, this is the main aim why we decided to hold a cultural day. We also had to organize it in an open venue so that students would be easily encouraged to associate with their cultural groups.”
Activities marking the event include the traditional dance called ogene.
