UniJos library among the best in Nigeria – NLN

The National Librarian, Professor Lenrie Aina has described the University of Jos library as one of the top five university libraries in Nigeria due to its staffing and stocking of information resources as well as adoption of innovation.

Professor Aina said this when he visited the university to commiserate with the university community over the fire incident that gutted the Naraguta library complex in October last year and expressed willingness to partner with the institution to rehabilitate the library.

A statement issued by the institution’s Principal Assistant Registrar, Information and Publications Abdullahi Abdullahi, said the Librarian had donated 159 titles of books of 18 volumes, new laptop, three desktop computers as well as a personal donation of seven titles of books he authored.

It said that Aina had advised that the university’s research outcomes in the forms of books, journals, and inaugural lectures be deposited at the National Library of Nigeria after obtaining the ISBN for books and ISSN for serials.
