Delivering a paper on ‘Youth Empowerment Through Motivation’ at an alumni lecture organised by the Advancement Office of the University of Jos, a former student of the university and Commander of 237 Base Services Group of Nigeria Air Force, Bauchi, Air Commodore Sani Zakari told the students to place high value on self-motivation and learn to do well at their studies so that they could graduate to be sought after in a world which is increasingly becoming unable to offer employment opportunities.
In her own address, chairperson of the occasion and former Minister of State for Education, Hon Josephine Tapgun, challenged the Unijos students to study well and aim to attain career heights akin to those of the guest lecturer and other successful people.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hayward Mafuyai said the alumni lecture was organised to expose the students to practical knowledge of how to succeed in life after school.
