The University of Lagos management has disassociated itself from a text message being circulated advertising that the on-line registration for the 2017/2018 screening exercise for admission into the institution will commence from Wednesday, August 9th to Wednesday, August 31st, 2017.

The institution described the text message as a scam from unscrupulous elements who wanted to milk innocent people of their hard-earned money.

Since last week, many prospective students and parents of the institution have been inundated with messages purportedly sent by UNILAG, telling them of the commencement of the post-Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) screening. 

But in a statement yesterday, the management said the message did not emanate from the University of Lagos.

“The University website is the only authentic source of information on admissions,” the university said.
