A breakdown of the figures showed that a total of 2,961 males and 820 females have so far graduated from the college.
Administering the oath-taking ceremony to the graduands at the 29th professional initiation and admission ceremony of the college, held at the university auditorium, the Registrar Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr Ibrahim Abdulmumini admonished the new doctors to always take proper documentations of all patients that consult them.
Represented by the Director, Medical Services, Kwara State Ministry of Health, Dr. Isaac  Oludipe, the Registrar also admonished them to always seek their consent and that of their family where necessary in taking major clinical decisions.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, stressed the commitment of the university to produce qualified medical graduates for the nation’s health sector.
The VC represented by the Provost, College of Health Sciences, Professor Ayodele Omotosho noted that medical graduates of the university contribute greatly to the growth of medical profession in the country, saying most of the doctors now occupy greater positions in their various chosen medical disciplines in the country.
Ambali said, “In order to consolidate on this giant stride of quality and standard, the management of the university has embarked on the construction of modern clinical skills laboratory where medical students would learn first hand, having their clinical acumen for the first time in the college of medical sciences of the institution”, he said.
He also said that the measure would provide opportunity for the medical students to make use of mannequins and other learning tools capable of enhancing medical academic development during their training.
