Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has declared that he would not in any way be distracted in his determination to offer his best to JAMB and the education sector in Nigeria.

Oloyede, who is a former vice-chancellor of University of Ilorin, also said he is open to new ideas and innovations that would help in his task of taking JAMB to an enviable height.

He spoke while receiving delegates of Unilorin Council of Former Students’ Union Presidents who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.

Oloyede commended the ex-student union leaders for their foresight in setting up the council to further project the ideals of their alma mater.

The former students’ leaders were in Abuja to show solidarity with the registrar for the innovative ideas he introduced to JAMB in his short sojourn in the board.

The delegation, according to a statement by one of the past presidents, Dr. Alex Akanmu, was led by Comrade Bisi Omotosho who served as president of the union between 2000/2001.

Others included Dr. Alex Akanmu (2001/2002); Hussein Lateef (2005/2006); Engr. Usman Ayinde (2006/2007); Fagbemi Lukman (2007/2008); Azeez Obayomi (2010/2011) Engr. Surajudeen Musa (2011/2012) and Mr. Yakubu Ishowo (2014/2015).

Some of the objectives of the council include joining in actualizing the University of Ilorin’s tripartite mandate of teaching, research and community development.
