During a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja, the presidents of Medical Students Association (MSA) from various universities, decried the welfare of their members, saying there was need to address the problem.
According to the presidents, inadequate funding and obsolete medical curriculum were some of the problems affecting their clinical training in medical schools.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting said: “Worldwide, medical curriculum is changing, coupled with the technological advancement and discoveries in medical sciences. It is high time we had strong Tele-medicine in our curriculum, conference teaching, better equipment, good accommodation and effective international exchange programmes.”
It, therefore, called on the MDCN to review the curriculum.
