The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to include professionals in the Next Level agenda.

The body said Buhari’s administration may find it difficult to achieve its goal if indigenous professionals are not carried along.

President of APBN Olumuyiwa Alade Ajobola stated this while addressing the 8th summit of professionals held in Abuja, on Wednesday.

He called on professionals in the country to remain ethical in discharging their duties, stressing that would be important in the journey to a sustainable next level.

“This year, the summit has been designed specifically to address the Next Level desire that President Muhammadu Buhari promised in the pre-2019 election campaign. We interpreted this to mean a commitment of the government to repositioning our dear nation, Nigeria, amongst the comity of Nations, to a higher nexus, in all aspects of governance and hence of benefit to the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pharm Lere Baale, President of the Business School, Netherlands, in his speech said it is crucial that the professionals are carried along in the country.

“Indigenous professionals are leaving the country because they feel their contributions are not appreciated by the government.

“The Next Level is more like a dream, but in implementing the strategies that are contained inside the Next Level document, it is crucial that the professionals are carried along. Even if they are not carried along, the professionals should proactively engage government. We are all together to build a better nation,” he said.
